Infection Control

Infection control has always been a top priority for our practice and you may have seen this during your visits to our office in the past. Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, it’s both safe and comfortable. We have taken extra additional precautions in light of the pandemic to keep patients and staff safe.

Our office exceeds infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies regularly so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued.

**IMPORTANT** You may see some changes when it is time for your next appointment. We made these changes to help protect our patients and staff. For example:

  • Our office will communicate with you beforehand to ask some screening questions. You’ll be asked those same questions again when you are in the office. (We are working to have all forms online so that the exchange between staff and patient is minimal)
  • We have hand sanitizer that we will ask you to use when you enter the office. You will always be welcome to wash your hands if you choose.
  • When you arrive, please remain in your car and call or text us. If you need to come with someone to your appointment please have them wait for you outside the building or in the car. We ask that you arrive with a mask on. Our team member will meet you at your car and take your temperature using a touch less thermometer. You will be taken straight to the treatment room that has been prepared for you. Please maintain social distancing.
  • Appointments will be managed to allow for social distancing between patients. That might mean that you’re offered fewer options for scheduling your appointment. Thus it is important you COME ON TIME to your appointment, or we may have to reschedule you. If you come early to your appointment, please wait outside the office and text us, and we will let you know when we are ready to take you in.
  • In addition to our constant high standard of infection control in every treatment room before and after each patient, we are also spraying everything in the treatment room with a non-toxic, plant-derived disinfectant approved by the EPA and CDC as effective to kill COVID-19 and all other microorganisms.
  • Due to the high cost of PPE per patient, we may have to charge a minimal PPE fee for every patient. Our patients and teams safety is our top priority. Currently, dental organizations are working hard to have insurances cover this extra burden on dental offices, but this will take a long time as insurance companies are not likely to do what's right.
  • We look forward to seeing you again and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we are taking to keep you and the our community safe. As we return to normal, appointments are be EXTREMELY limited so we advise you to contact us to schedule in advance.
